SUVA, Fiji (Fiji TV, Dec. 5)—Five senior government officials, including the Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase are now awaiting word from the military on what to do next after they were reportedly told to pack their bags and wait to be picked up by the military.

Public Service Commission Chief Executive Anare Jale has confirmed that he along with five others have been told they will be taken to Nukulau later this evening.

By mid-morning, the PSC chief executive was all packed up and ready to go.

Jale says under these extraordinary circumstances, its impossible to resist. Obviously distraught, Jale however remains unapologetic.

But even in the face of these unfolding events, Anare Jale's sense of humour remains intact.

Emotional staff were briefed of what to do in his absence shortly after Jale left for his residence to pick up his personal belongings.

Also confirmed to be on the military's pick up list are five other senior government officials.

The military hierarchy have avoided queries on the matter in the meantime, the uneasy wait continues.
