PALAU POLICE GET PISTOLS FROM GUAM

KOROR (Palau Horizon, Dec. 20) - Palau on Wednesday received from the Guam Police Department a donation of 9 mm guns.

The 30 Smith and Wesson caliber were brought to Palau via the United States Sequioa.

Aside from the pistols, the donation also included 60 9 MM magazines one unit of 9MM ammunitions (500 rounds), 30 holsters, medical stretchers and navigational boards, which will go to the Civic Action Team.

Vice President and Minister of Justice Elias Camsek Chin said that most of the current weapons of Palau are .38 calibers.

Bureau of Public Safety Director Hazime Telei was in Guam when the deal was signed.

Chin said the donation would help the police force because the weapons currently used are old.

The USS Sequioa called port in Palau starting on December 13 up to Saturday.
