SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, Dec. 25) – International fraudster Peter Foster remains under military protective custody after being taken away from a Suva hotel where he was serving his bail condition.

When contacted this morning Foster would only say that he was in "military protective custody."

He said he was not at liberty to say anything else.

Foster and a police officer assigned to him were removed from the JJs in the Park Hotel in Suva last Friday.

Authorities were not aware of his whereabouts.

However, reliable sources say Foster was taken to Denarau Island in Nadi.

He would not say whether he was still on Denarau or back in Suva.

Foster has denied charges of forgery, uttering forged documents and obtaining a work permit on forged documents.

He was released on bail with surety of $5000 and is due to reappear in court on January 8.

Army spokesman Major Neumi Leweni could not be reached for a comment.
