TAIPEI, CHINA AIRLINES SCHEDULE CHARTERS TO CNMI

SAIPAN, CNMI (Marianas Variety, Feb. 1) – The Commonwealth Ports Authority yesterday announced that two new airlines would fly two charter flights this year to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI)

Ports director Clyde K. Norita said Eva Airlines has confirmed a flight on April 7 with 252 passengers from Taipei.

Air China, he said, is also scheduled to bring in 176 tourists from Beijing, China on Dec. 17.

Norita said Japan Airlines, which pulled out of the CNMI in Oct. 2005, has also confirmed nine additional charter flights, which will bring approximately 2,520 tourists from Kansai, Japan.

These flights are scheduled for March 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, and 30.
