SOLOMON ISLANDS TEACHERS END STRIKE

Teachers across the country have returned to classes today after a call to end a strike action across the country last week.

The Central Government and the Solomon Islands National Teachers Association issued the call on Sunday after reaching an agreement to settle teachers grievances.

The call was issued after the two parties reached an agreement to resolve teachers’ boycott of classes over unresolved issues affecting teacher’s in the country.

"We are calling on all teachers to cease to continue undertaking further industrial action," the parties said in a joint statement.
