86 FIJI SOLDIERS DEPLOYED TO SINAI, SUDAN

SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, Feb. 22) - The Fiji Military has announced the deployment of 86 soldiers to Sinai and another six to Sudan to participate in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Military spokesman Major Neumi Leweni said the first group to Sudan will consist of 42 soldiers and will leave on March 2 and the second group leaving at a later date.

Leweni said the dates are not confirmed for the other six who would be leaving for Sudan.

Captain Penioni Naliva who is the private secretary for Fiji's military Commander Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama's will lead the Sudan mission.
