AMERICAN SAMOA SOLDIER DIES IN IRAQ

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, April 15) – Another American Samoan soldier has died in Iraq

Sgt. Raymond Sevaaetasi, of Leone has died in Baghdad of wounds suffered when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.

[PIR editor’s note: At least 8 soldiers from American Samoa have been killed in Iraq.]

Sgt. Sevaaetasi was assigned to the 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade combat team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood Texas.

A graduate of Leone high school and the Americna Samoa Community College, Raymond entered the Army in 1997.

He was the second eldest of four children and has a twin sister.

He was married and leaves behind two young children.
