KOROR, Palau (Palau Horizon, July 2) — The newly built water system in the Island State of Kayangel will be formally opened today with President Remengesau expected to lead the ribbon cutting ceremonies along with Taiwan Ambassador Mathew S. Lee.

The underground water station project is funded through the stimulus grant from Taiwan with a total budget of US$300,000.

Earlier, Kayangel Governor Edwin Chokai said that the State Government has some leftover from the budget.

He said that this would be used for building of a toilet facility at the port but they need an additional $20,000 for this.
