SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, July 16) - Prominent Suva lawyer and former Fiji Law Society president Graham Leung was stopped from leaving the country at the Nadi International Airport this morning. Lawyers, who are members of the FLS in the west, gathered with Leung in a show of support.

FLS vice president Tupou Draunidalo said they knew immigration officials would stop him. She said the immigration department informed them that Leung was refused travel upon orders from the "so called interim Home Affairs minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama."

Immigration Director Viliame Naupoto confirmed with Fijilive that Leung is on the watch-list. "As long as his name is on the watch-list, he cannot travel," he said.

Meanwhile Draunidalo said that Leung was scheduled to attend a conference in Sydney before traveling to New Zealand. "Now he is on his way back to Suva," she said.
