APIA, Samoa (Samoa Observer, Aug. 21) – Samoa Minister of Tourism Misa Telefoni has announced that there are still at least 200 rooms available for visitors during the South Pacific Games (SPG).

"Aggie’s Resort is willing to offer up to 50 rooms at a weekend special rate," Misa, who is also deputy Prime Minister said. "There is no-overcharging as has been mentioned in certain overseas media."

[PIR editor’s note: The South Pacific Games are being held in Apia, Samoa’s capital, from Aug. 25 through Sept. 8.]

Misa also stressed that Sinalei Resort, Coconuts, Le Vasa and many Savai’i properties – all have rooms available.

There are other properties with vacancies and details can be obtained from Samoa Hotels Association.

The Deputy Prime Minister also urged visitors to take time to visit the beautiful "Big Island" of Savai’i. Misa urged visitors to contact these properties directly or through

Misa urged visitors and travel agents to hurry up and snatch up these available rooms, and to include Savai’i in any travel plans.
