CHINESE LAWMAKERS VISIT TONGA

Tonga Now Nukualofa, Tonga Sept. 4, 2007

A delegation consisting of twenty members from the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China arrived Fua’amotu International Airport last night, September 3, 2007 at 11.10pm on an official goodwill visit into the Kingdom of Tonga.

The delegation is headed by the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Jiang Zhenghua.

High-level exchange of visits between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Tonga is ongoing and to this extend further promotes the friendly cooperative relations between the Chinese National People’s Congress and the Legislative Assembly of the Kingdom of Tonga.

The delegation will be paying call on Senior Government officials and will depart Tonga on Wednesday 5, September 2007.
