WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Sept. 24) – One of the two canneries in American Samoa has set up recruiting stations in the territory in an effort to hire more than 200 workers.

The company said it urgently needs to hire more employees to meet production requirements.

The two recruiting stations have been set up to provide all the information possible workers might want.

[PIR editor’s note: COS Samoa Packing in June announced plans to lay off 200 workers at its tuna cannery saying a newly-approved federal minimum wage hike of 50 U.S. cents would threaten its operations.]
