Peleliu State Government is presently improving the natural milkfish pond and the channel leading to the pond with the purpose of increasing production in the coming years for marketing.

Peleliu State Milkfish Pond is the only one of a kind in Palau and the North Pacific that relies on natural cycle of the specie to produce in Peleliu waters and the use the mangrove as sanctuary.

The pond was developed more than 50 years ago and milkfish in the pond are not fed by humans, rather the green algae that’s produced naturally in the pond is natural food foe the milkfish.
