PORT VILA, Vanuatu (Capitol FM107 News, Jan. 2) - Apart from Port Vila, Mystery Island in the southern Province of Vanuatu is expecting more visitors as of January of 2008.

This has been revealed by Joe Iauto in the Marketing Section of the Vanuatu National Tourism Office (VNTO) when contacted by Capitol FM News this week.

Iauto said the arrival of the new ocean liner "Pacific Dawn" contributes to the high number of visitors coming to Vanuatu.

He also confirmed that apart from other tourist destination sites in Vanuatu, Mystery Island is expecting more visitors, as it has been voted by the P&O Cruise as the best Tourist Destination in the region.

In the month of January alone, around 10 Cruise ships will be visiting Vanuatu.

From the 1st to 5th of January, Cruise ships will be visiting the Mystery island and Port Vila, which also includes a visit by "Pacific Dawn" on the 2nd of January which carries 2,050 passengers per trip.

Mr Iauto stressed that despite the increase in number of visitors to vanuatu, Tourism is a fragile industry that can be disturbed at any time.

Iauto said it is everyone's business to make sure the good reputation is maintained to keep Vanuatu as the happiest place on earth.

He also said illegal activities as thefts, murder, and disputes can hinder all necessary efforts in trying to persuade tourists to come to Vanuatu.
