Project chairman Talemo Ratakele said 300 people who will directly benefit from this venture would include the village's youth and women.

Kuku Village is about 10 minutes drive from Nausori Town and the youths have been working hard in trying to provide entertainment for the tourists to enjoy while visiting the Molituva Tribal Village.

The women have been trained to make traditional handbags and jewellry to sell to the tourists last year.

This was organised by the Tourism Ministry.

Ministry representative Kasimiro Taukeinikoro said the women and youth would have a refresher course on handicrafts to ensure they also had the earning opportunities.

It took the Ministry of Tourism and the integrated human resources development group a year to help the villagers set up the project.
