Yatule Beach Resort in Natadola hosting job fair

SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, January 19, 2009) – The InterContinental Fiji Resort, Golf & Spa will begin the hiring process of more than 350 employees at a job fair being organised at Yatule Beach Resort in Natadola tomorrow morning.

From tomorrow, the resort would begin the selection for about 350 employees in their initial recruitment drive.

A statement from the resort said that while it was conscious and sympathetic of the natural disaster currently facing Fiji, it wished to proceed with the recruitment of staff so that they have sufficient time for training and to prepare the resort for opening in May this year.

"It will also provide much needed jobs for the people of Fiji," the statement said.

The number of jobs will reach about 500 when the resort is fully operational.

Natadola Bay Resort Ltd chairman Felix Anthony was briefed by management and contractors on site on Saturday on the damage sustained by recent heavy rain and flooding.

Anthony said he was pleasantly surprised at the minimal damage to the resort and golf course.

He said the opening of the resort was on schedule and urged those seeking employment in the tourism industry to take advantage of this opportunity.

The resort will provide transport from Sigatoka and Nadi for those seeking employment. Buses will depart the Nadi Temple at 9am and 1pm; and depart Sigatoka Bus Stand at 9.30am and 1.30pm.

Participants will be taken back to Nadi and Sigatoka at the end of each session.
