Cops with search warrants took footage for investigation

SUVA, Fiji (Fiji Times, Fiji 19, 2009) - Police have seized footage of Commissioner Esala Teleni talking to his officers.

Police spokeswoman Ema Mua said the search warrant was executed on Fiji Television Limited.

"The warrant was for the copy of the footage that Fiji TV took while Mr. Teleni was talking to his officers," she said.

Ms. Mua said police would not investigate Fiji TV for the footage but wanted to get the footage for their internal investigation.

"I cannot confirm as to whether we have got the copy of the footage but I can confirm that a search warrant has been issued,’ she said.

Fiji TV manager news, current affairs, Merana Kitione yesterday confirmed that a search warrant was issued by police.

Ms. Kitione said the search warrant was served for unedited footage of the meeting between Teleni and his Indo-Fijian officers.
