NEW CALEDONIA, AUSTRALIA STRENGTHEN MILITARY TIES

New Zealand also participates in talks
MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, April 2, 2009) - Australia is expected to strengthen its military ties with New Caledonia during high-level talks in the French territory's capital, Noumea, on Thursday.
A delegation from New Zealand is also taking part in the meeting.
It is understood an agreement boosting cooperation between the three countries' armed forces will be signed in coming days.
The visiting officials will also participate in ceremonies to mark Anzac Day, the anniversary of the first major military action fought together by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I.
