Sir Paul Reeves optimistic of top level talks

SUVA, Fiji (Fiji Times, September 8, 2009) – A three-member Commonwealth delegation arrived in Nausori last night for a two-day round of meetings with State leaders today.

Delegation leader and Commonwealth Special Representative Sir Paul Reeves remained optimistic, saying although Fiji was suspended from the Commonwealth it was important to focus on a way forward.

He looked forward to meeting Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

"We need to explore the relationship we still have together and what we can do to help the movement back to constitutional democracy."

He is accompanied by two senior members of the Commonwealth Secretariat.
