MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Sept. 10, 2009) – Papua New Guinea's bid to host the Pacific Games in 2015 has had a boost during a final inspection visit by several Games committee members last week.

Syd Yates, the chief executive officer of Kina Securities and long-time PNG sports administrator, told Radio Australia the reaction from the visitors seemed positive.

"At the closing dinner, the former Cook Islands prime minister, Sir Geoffrey Henry spoke very highly of our bid," Mr Yates said.

Papua New Guinea is competing against Solomon Islands and Tonga for the right to host the 2015 Games.

The winner will be announced on September 27 during the Pacific Games Committee's annual meeting in Rarotonga.
