Body believe among four missing

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (RNZI, Dec. 1, 2010) - A body has been found near the Marshall Islands and is believed to be one of four passengers from a small boat that went missing in rough seas Friday afternoon and later capsized.

The Police have confirmed the body of a male was located 32 kilometers south of Arno Atoll in the Marshall Islands yesterday.

But a search official says the body is so badly decomposed that they cannot even tell its race.

He says officials are hoping to get the body to a hospital in Majuro for identification.

The discovery comes a day after boat of the missing people was located by search officials.

[PIR editor’s note: A separate report indicates the "boat sighted by the U.S. Navy plane fits the description of the vessel that was en route to Majuro before it went missing in rough conditions last Friday".]

The United States Coast Guard has now increased its presence in the search by flying in a second C-130 aircraft from Honolulu to join the air and sea search for possible survivors.

The search by the U.S. Coast Guard and a fleet of local vessels is expected to continue today.
