Group eyes possible investments in French Polynesia

PAPEÉTE, Tahiti (Tahitipresse, Feb. 23, 2011) - French Polynesia Tourism minister Steeve Hamblin recently went to Beijing, China.

Hamblin is looking for investors that might be interested by Tahiti and Her Islands.

He had a meeting in Beijing with several persons who are indeed interested in French Polynesia.

A delegation of with a Chinese company specialized in hotels reportedly intends to come to Tahiti soon.

They will probably come to French Polynesia in March, a government press release states.

The same company might also build a Polynesian-style hotel in China.

This new hotel should be located on the well-known island of Hainan.

China could well be a great market for Tahitian tourism in the years to come, the press release added.
