Marles wraps up 6-month tour of Forum countries

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, March 7, 2011) - Australia's Parliamentary Secretary for the Pacific, Richard Marles, is travelling to Cook Islands, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Henry Puna and his cabinet.

It is the first leg of a three nation tour including French Polynesia and Tonga.

The visits will mean that since taking office last September, Mr. Marles will have visited every member and associate member state of the Pacific Islands Forum.

His office says it is in keeping with Australia's policy of engaging comprehensively with its Pacific island neighbors.
