Ma-On, could grow to category 3 by tomorrow

HONOLULU (Pacific Islands Report, July 14, 2011) – A category one typhoon was passing above the Northern Mariana islands today, moving westward towards Japan.

According to Tropical Storm Risk, "Ma-On" was carrying winds of 80 miles per hour, and was expected to grow to a category 3 by packing winds of up to 130 miles per hour sometime on Thursday, Honolulu time.
