Focus on continued good relations

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Aug. 25, 2011) – A delegation of politicians from Pacific Island nations, including Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu, have held talks with a senior Chinese legislator in Beijing.

Yan Junqi, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress standing committee, spoke highly of relations between China and Pacific Islands countries.

She said China will continue to deepen cooperation in all areas and bring bilateral relations to a new high.

The chief delegate, Lord Tuiafitu, who is also the deputy speaker of the Tonga parliament, says the Pacific greatly values its relationship with China and abides by the One-China Policy.
