Twenty years of volunteer labor brings results

By Tevita Vuibau SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, Oct. 2, 2011) - Habitat for Humanity in Fiji (HFH Fiji) has revealed that it has built over 1,000 houses for the people of Fiji since it’s formation in 1991.

HFH Fiji National Director Richard Counts made the comment as HFH prepares to mark its 500,000th house built and World Habitat Day on October 3rd.

Coutts said the houses built in Fiji represented HFH’s commitment to help more families in need of decent affordable housing.

He said the hard work of local and international volunteers had been instrumental in contributing to the milestones being celebrated now.

The HFH’s 500,000th house will be built in Maai Mahiu, Kenya.
