$2.33 per fee applies to New Zealand transfers

APIA, Samoa (Samoa Observer, Oct. 7, 2011) – Digicel is now offering its customers the cheapest way to receive money from New Zealand.

In another first for the telecommunication company – Digicel Mobile Money (DMM) has gone international and now family and friends in New Zealand can send money directly to your mobile wallet at almost no cost.

Digicel Samoa’s Commercial Manager Malcolm Broad launched the new service yesterday saying Digicel is again making the lives of Samoans easier. "The service offers an innovative, alternative method for people in NZ to send money to their families here in Samoa," he said.

Malcolm says the innovative service is also a safer, more affordable and more convenient method to transfer money, and no bank account is required by the recipient.

"Money on the phone can be used as a mobile wallet to pay bills, buy or send Digicel Top Up credit, or transfer or withdraw cash," he said.

"Cash withdrawals can be made at over 35 participating stores and service agents throughout the Samoa. It is another way that makes DMM the right choice when it comes to managing your money."

Broad said DMM International is one of many functions that make the service the right choice for you.
