Ex-President of Chamber allegedly fraudulently sought loan

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Dec. 27, 2011) –

Samoa police have filed ten charges including forgery and uttering forged documents against prominent businesswoman, Lemalu Sina Retzlaff-Lima, despite an application by the complainant to drop the case.

She’s a former president of the Chamber of Commerce and is married to former Manu Samoa rugby star Muliagatele Brian Lima.

The ten charges relate to the use of forged documents involving her father-in-law and her husband.

The documents were presented during the pursuit of a bank loan.

[PIR editor’s note: Retzlaff-Lima was elected as President to the Samoa Chamber of Commerce in 2008, the first-ever female head of the organization, prior to her time working as the managing director for Apia Rentals.]
