By Douglas Marau

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Solomon Star, Jan. 3, 2012) – Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo was seen visiting the cardiology department of the St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia last week Friday, sources in Sydney revealed.

This has raised questions about the Prime Ministers health if he has coronary problems, sources claimed.

The Solomon Star understands the Prime Minister accompanied by his wife Madam Lilo sneaked out of the country last week.

Cardiology is a medical specialty that deals with disorders of the human heart.

The field includes diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure and electrophysiology.

"It is in the public interest that the nation be kept reliably informed about the Prime Minister’s health," the source revealed.

Prime Minister Lilo and his press secretary David Tuhanuku could not be reached for comments yesterday.

However, sources within the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) denied speculations that the Prime Minister was experiencing heart problems.

"It’s nothing serious as it is just a normal routine check up," sources close to the Prime Minister said.

Meanwhile, it is understood Sir Trevor Garland hosted a New Year’s Day luncheon at his residence which was attended by Prime Minister Lilo and Madam Lilo on Sunday.

The Prime Minister is expected back in the country on Friday this week to prepare ahead of the Parliament sitting, Thursday next week.
