HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Solomon Star, May 14, 2012) – A former Prime Minister of Solomon Islands is calling on the Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition to stop firing bullets at each other in the media but solve their problems through the right channel.

Ezekiel Alebua made call after Gordon Darcy Lilo and Dr Derek Sikua continued to bombard each other in the media.

Mr Alebua said the two leaders should stop arguing and use the right channels to solve their differences.

"I call on the PM and Dr Sikua to refrain from their political mudslinging and settle their differences in court and stop using the media."

He said if they continue to do this both leaders will achieve nothing until their term lapse.

The former premier of Guadalcanal urged the leaders to serve the interest of the nation rather than wasting time through such ongoing words of battle in the media.
