The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Director, Gaudencio S. Hernandez, Jr. paid a courtesy call on Acting President Dennis Momotaro on Monday, May 28, 2012, during his visit to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI).

Executive Director Hernandez represents the RMI, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Timor-Leste on the ADB Board of Directors.

Speaking on behalf of President Christopher J. Loeak, Cabinet Ministers, and members of Nitijela (Parliament), Acting President Dennis Momotaro welcomed ADB Executive Director Hernandez to the RMI and expressed appreciation of the work that ADB does for the Asia Pacific region, particularly the RMI.

Executive Director Hernandez took the opportunity to announce that the RMI's Operations Business Plan has been recently developed which emphasizes on the environment, climate change, private sector development, and human capacity development. The country program will be complemented by regional technical assistance and other multilateral programs.

Executive Director Hernandez was accompanied by Finance Secretary Alfred Alfred Jr. and the RMI ADB Local Coordinator Ellen Milne.
