Two Fiji Prison Escapees To Appear In Court

Police continue investigation into those who assisted fugitives

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Sept. 30, 2012) – In Fiji, two of the five escapees that fled the from the Naboro Medium facility two weeks ago and were captured last week are expected to appear in the Magistrates Court in Suva today.

Police Chief Operations Officer, Rusiate Tudravu says Isoa Waqa and Tevita Sugu are now in custody while the other three are still under medical observation.

They were hospitalised after they were recaptured on Friday.

Rusiate Tudravu told Fiji Live the three other escapees will be placed in custody soon where they will then be interrogated by Police.

Meanwhile, police are still investigating people who were harbouring these escapees.
