Taiwanese look forward to ‘closer bilateral ties’

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, March 10, 2013) – Taiwan’s diplomatic ally Tuvalu will open an embassy in the capital, Taipei, this week.

Island Business says Tuvalu’s Prime Minister Willy Telavi and the ambassador to Taiwan, Minute Taupo, will co-host the embassy’s opening ceremony in Taipei on March the 14th.

The embassy’s office will be located in the Taipei World Trade Center’s International Trade Building.

A Taiwanese official says they believe the launch of the embassy will bring closer bilateral ties.

Tuvalu is one of Taiwan’s 23 diplomatic allies.
