New Belau Art Gallery Opens In Downtown Koror

Renowned Polish-born artist Glinski’s works on sale

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, March 3, 2014) – The Belau Art Gallery has recently opened its flagship gallery.

The new gallery, which is located in downtown Koror, officially opened on Saturday, March 1. The opening party was attended by more than 200 guests from the local community.

The gallery is a joint undertaking of noted artist Michael Glinki and a local business partner named Evita.

The new shop opened for business yesterday. The gallery sells many items, including original paintings, limited edition prints, laser prints, posters, postcards, puzzles M. Glinki’s original artworks, sterling silver and fine jewelry, wood sculptures, and hand printed sarongs.

There is also wooden furniture for sale. The furniture is made from salvaged wood from Palau like Mango and Btaches.

Almost all the items are either made or designed by Glinski.

The shop is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM seven days a week. Appointment for private tours are also welcome.

In 2004, Glinski opened the original Belau Art Gallery, which made local history as the first fine art gallery to open in Palau. Since then, the Gallery has grown and added three new locations at all the Duty Free Shops throughout Palau.

Born to a family of architects and artists in Warsaw, Poland, moved to Palau in 2003. Since moving to Palau, Glinski has transformed into an ocean artist and has become recognized in East Asia for his work. Michael was dubbed the "genius Ocean Artist from Palau" by the Taiwanese press and his popularity is still growing. His works, which include fantastic paintings, are collected by hundreds of art lovers from around the globe.
