HAGÅTÑA, Guam (Marianas Business Journal, May 4, 2014) – Upgrades to a total of 318 rooms at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa began on April 1. The upgrades include all the rooms in the main tower. The refurbishment project is some $6.5 million, hotel officials told the Journal.

"We are excited to showcase our new main tower rooms in the coming months," said Makoto "Earnie" Yasuhara, general manager of the Hilton Guam. "The design of the room and colors selected are very warm and inviting, upgrading our level of service to our guests."

The renovations are expected to be completed by July.

The refurbishment of the main tower rooms includes replacing guestroom carpets and upgrading fixtures and upholstery. The bathrooms will also undergo changes including the replacement of bathtubs and tiles and the installation of washlets. Ilya, a Japan-based interior design company, was selected for the main tower refurbishment. The company has also worked on numerous hotel projects to include the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts was founded in 1919 as the flagship brand of Hilton Worldwide. The chain has more than 550 hotels across six continents.
