RAROTONGA, Cook Islands (Cook Islands News, May 6, 2014) – With yesterday’s deadline for nominations, incumbent MP’s and political hopefuls have finished the easy work and will be hitting the road on the campaign trail.

The Democratic Party is running a full slate of candidates for the July 9 vote, with a nearly-full roster put up by the Cook Islands Party.

The party had yet to announce candidates for Mangaia’s Ivirua constituency and in Aitutaki’s Arutanga-Reureu-Nikaupara constituency, held by incumbent Teina Bishop – a former CIP Cabinet Minister and founder of the One Cook Islands political group.

Not included in the following table is what will likely be a sizeable picking of independent candidates, who will be joining Ngatangiia hopeful Teina Mackenzie.
