SUVA, Fiji (Fiji Times, August 12, 2014) – The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma, as part of its reconciliation process, has sent out invitations to the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Prime Minister Rear Admiral (Ret) Voreqe Bainimarama to be part of an Agape (Love) Feast at the FMF National Gymnasium next Friday.
The event is part of the church's golden jubilee national celebrations in Suva.
Church general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said this was part of the church's intention to reconcile with the government, vanua and the public.
He said they would include government heads, the vanua and street kids.
"Agape means Christ-like love, loving people without any hindrance. This feast is based on that, sinners and all," Mr. Nawadra said.
