Manele leaders Solomon Islands Peoples Democratic Coalition

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation, Dec. 10, 2014) – The Opposition leader Jeremiah Manele vows to perform his watchdog role seriously.

In a brief meeting with Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare yesterday, the Hograno, Kia, Katova and Havulei MP says now that the Solomon Islands Peoples Democratic Coalition (SIPDC) appoints him the official opposition leader, he will watch the new Government very closely.

Mr Manele has also thanked MPs in the SIPDC for unanimously entrusting him the role of the shadow Prime Minister.

The Coalition has also appointed East Malaita MP Manasseh Maelanga as the Leader of the Independent Group in Parliament.

Mr Maelanga has also acknowledged members of the SIPDC for showing true leadership, humility and patience during the past few weeks.
