The long awaited release of Kavagram for Android devices is finally here.

Kavagram developer Sonny Stevenson announced via Kavagram’s social media channels that Android users can now download the popular app from the Google Play store for free. Kavagram for Apple devices has been available since June 16th, 2014.

Kavagram is a photo app that allows users to embellish their pictures by adding Polynesian designs, images, and themes to promote cultural pride. Islanders and island-loving people from all over the world are downloading and using Kavagram to show pride in their family, community, and culture. Most recently, San Diego Charger Manti Te’o, who is of Samoan decent and raised in Hawaii, posted a "Kavagrammed" photo showing his love for his Hawaiian home.

"I am glad to finally say that Kavagram for Android is here." says Stevenson. "After the initial launch of the Apple version, users from all over the world were asking for an Android release. We’ve seen downloads from not only the Pacific, but from all over the U.S., Europe, South America, Asia. It’s been great to see it take off, but even better to know just how proud Polynesians and Pacific Islanders are of our rich and beautiful cultures. The idea of Kavagram was born out of love of my culture, the Samoan culture, and I am happy to see that others feel the same way about their cultures." says Stevenson.

Stevenson is from Pago Pago, American Samoa and is currently residing in Kaneohe, Hawaii. He received his Masters Degree in Software Engineering from Arizona State University and created his business Kava Up, LLC. to develop technology solutions for Polynesian and Island communities.

Stevenson is the son of Alo Dr. Paul Stevenson and Sharon Stevenson of Pago Pago, American Samoa.
