Due to the major damage to the Outer Islands High School’s infrastructures, the Yap Department of Education has decided to bring in all the Seniors from Ulithi to complete their high school education here at Yap High School.

The department is also reminding those people who have already decided to sponsor any of the incoming 12th graders from Outer Islands High School to check the return schedule of the MV Hapilmohol so they could prepare to pick up the students upon their arrival from Ulithi.

As for the underclassmen, the department had decided to let them go home for now as the classrooms incurred major damage and will resume as soon as space become available to hold classes again.

However, parents of other students besides the seniors who may wish to transfer their students to any schools on Yap main island, will need to communicate directly to the administration of the receiving school before that particular student could be transferred.

The receiving school administration will have the final say or decision on whether to accept that transfer student or not based on the availability of space to avoid congestion of students in classrooms and other factors such as availability of instructors, teachers and instruction materials.

This applies to all school levels from High School to Early Childhood Education Centers.
