Federated States of Micronesia President Peter M. Christian on Monday declared a State of Emergency for Pohnpei, following a declaration made by Gov. John Ehsa on May 29, 2015.

The declaration specifies the national government’s tasks in addressing disaster responses to support affected communities in the State of Pohnpei as a result of Typhoon Dolphin, which passed through the area earlier last month.

The FSM Office of Environment and Emergency Management has been directed to coordinate a disaster task force with assistance from all departments.
