Samoa Appoints First Female Supreme Court Justice

Mata Tuatagaloa was first women appointed to be a district judge

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Aug. 27, 2015) – Samoa's first female District court judge, Mata Tuatagaloa, will become the first woman to be inaugurated as a permanent judge of the Supreme Court.

She will be sworn in before the head of state on Thursday.

Mata Tuatagaloa was appointed as permanent judge of the District court four years ago after serving as a prominent lawyer for many years.
