Considering abandoned homes for temporary solution

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, November 5, 2015) – About 120 families on Saipan in the Northern Marianas are still homeless three months after Typhoon Soudelor laid waste to the island.

The Department of Public Works says it is considering the use of abandoned homes as a temporary solution for those left homeless.

Many people waitlisted for the construction of their homes have been told the wait will extend into next year because of the dearth of contractors on Saipan.
