Countries to cooperate to boost economies

SUVA, Fiji (Fiji Times, Dec. 16, 2015) – Fiji and Thailand have signed two Memoranda of Understanding to boost agriculture and fisheries cooperation between the two countries.

The signing took place in Bangkok this week and was hosted by Thailand's Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, General Chatchai Sarikulya who signed the MOUs on behalf of the Thai Government.

Fiji's Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu signed the MOU on agricultural cooperation while the Minister for Fisheries and Forests, Osea Naiqamu signed the MOU on fisheries cooperation.

"This collaboration is a result of the exchange of official visits by our two prime ministers this year which has further deepened our engagement with Thailand," said Mr Seruiratu.
