ROC releases $2.85 million for various projects

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, Jan. 4, 2016) – The Republic of China (ROC) Government, through its embassy here, gave the second tranche of its 2015 Development Grant to the Palau Government.

The check for $2,850,000 was handed over by ROC Ambassador Harry Ho-Jen Tseng to Minister of Finance Elbuchel Sadang in a brief ceremony at the Tax Office on December 31, 2015.

ROC is continuing its commitment to Palau, to assist in Palau's development efforts. According to information from the ROC Embassy, the Palau Government plans to use the money for eleven projects.

These projects are the following 1. BNH Medical Equipment, 2. Revenue & Taxation Information System, 3. Echang Basketball Court Roof and PV System, 4. National Capitol Standby Power System Repair Project, 5. Aimeliik Heavy Equipments, 6. Ngaraard Road Paving Project, 7. Peleliu Waterline Extension Project, 8. Ngiwal Secondary Road Paving Project, 9. Aimeliik Visitor Center Project, 10. Ngchesar Taberngesang Dock Improvement Project and 11. Small Grants Project.

Last November, the ROC Government handed over $770,000 to the Palau Government representing the first tranche of the 2015 Grant.
