Northern Division Commissioner still awaiting final reports

SUVA, Fiji (Fiji Sun, Jan. 7, 2016) – The Commissioner Northern Office is awaiting reports from all the maritime islands in the Northern Division on the two storms faced by various parts of the country recently.

Northern divisional planning officer, Alipate Bolalevu said the all the district officers and heads of departments have been given until Wednesday next week to submit reports on any damages caused by the two storms.

"The skeleton staff, district officers and head of departments have been informed early this week to compile reports," he said.

"The tropical depression and the effect of Tropical Cyclone Ula had impact on Vanua Levu and other maritime islands but we are not sure as to what extend damages have occurred.

So far it has been confirmed that there is no death, no injuries and major damage to properties."

Mr Bolalevu added that roads in the Northern division are open and all operations were normal.
