Records show 12,838 out of 56, 273 teacher have not resumed duties

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (PNG Post-Courier, March 15, 2016) – Education department through the teachers services commission warns that 12,838 teachers would be suspended from payroll.

This follows a report from the Payroll Division of the Department of Education stating that of the 56,273 registered teachers on the Alesco Payroll System, 43,435 teachers have resumed while 12,838 have not resumed teaching duties.

SHP leads the suspension list with over 2000 teachers, followed by Morobe, Kiunga Lake Murray has the least teachers of 107 that are on the auto system.

The suspension happens on first April and teachers are asked to fill in resumption duty forms to get back to into the payroll system.
