Revision of 10-year plan discussed

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, April 5, 2016) – Palau Education Master Plan 2006-2016 will be updated at the upcoming Education Summit on April 7, 2016 at Ngarachamayong Cultural Center, according to Chief Ray Mechol of the Ministry of Education.

Key questions to be addressed at this Summit are "What is going well?" and "What needs to change?".

The expected outcome of this Summit is to obtain the stakeholders’ recommendations for the next 10-year Education Master Plan.

The event will open with the keynote address by President Tommy Remengesau Jr. followed by a review of Palau Education Master Plan 2006-2016 by Mark Manns of Education Policy and Master Plan 2006-2016 Reform Unit, UNESCO, Bangkok.

There will be five (5) concurrent sessions covering various aspects of the plan with focus on priority areas: Student Success, Instructional Quality, Curriculum Enhancement, Technology Advancement and Resource Support.

Expected participants at this Summit are students, parents, teachers, school principals, employers, public leaders, public agencies, non-governmental organizations and religious groups.
