Improving Disaster Communications Main Thrust Of Apia UN Workshop

Agenda includes communication best practices across disaster timeline

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, July 11, 2016) – Emergency responders and telecommunications experts from across the Pacific meet in Apia over the next three days to discuss ways to improve disaster emergency communications.

The regional workshop is being hosted by the Samoa Government and the United Nations World Food Programme.

The delegates from regional and national bodies in Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa will define the best practice in communications before, during and after a disaster.
