Dengue Fever Outbreak Claims Another Life In New Caledonia

39-year-old man's death brings death toll to 6 since January

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, March 29, 2017) – Another person has died of dengue in New Caledonia.

A 39-year-old man died in hospital after being admitted on Saturday night.

He is the sixth fatality since the territory declared an epidemic in early January.

This month alone more than 900 people have been infected.

The people most affected by the outbreak are those in the age brackets 15 to 19 and 25 to 29.
